With some kind of trigger words inside the direct message, we could enable more features of the bot. E.g. LIKE <URL> to like a toot, FOLLOW @accountname to follow somebody or REPLY <url> <text> to write a reply to an existing toot.

Just a quick idea, and not sure if this is to cumbersome or would actually provide any benefit :D
